[Fitting] Exequror

2014.11.04.05.49.04o/
If you’ll recall from this post about our first war, I had need of an Exequror to rep up the armor of a POS array. So, here’s a remote armor rep fit for that purpose. This fit is a little more skill-intensive than what I usually put up, but when you’re repping POS stuff, you want to field the best fit you can.

Fitting this Exequror was fun because it was straying into areas of gameplay that I didn’t have as much experience with. So, for all I know, someone will comment to tell me why this fit is terribad. But, I think it’s pretty decent for its intended purpose. I can’t actually fly this fit yet, as it requires Hull Upgrades V and Repair Drone Operation V. However, I flew a downgraded version very similar to this.

Lows for this fit are all about armor tank. A Tech 2 800mm plate, armor hardeners (explosive, kinetic, thermal), and an EANM II. Damage Control II rounds out the lows. Relatively standard. Gives this Exequror a 26,410 ehp armor buffer. The mids feature a T2 10MN Afterburner for some mobility (the MWD cap penalty is counter-productive in this case). The mid slots also have two Cap Recharger IIs to help get this fit cap stable so it can just keep on repping. Finally, a Conjunctive Magnetometric ECCM Scanning Array I bumps magnetometric sensor strength to 32.9 at all V. This should help prevent small-scale ECM harassment from interrupting your rep. High slots aren’t a surprise: three Medium Armor Repairer IIs.

For rigs, I initially went with Medium Remote Repair Augmentor Is. They’re a little more efficient at helping this fit’s cap recharge than the Medium Capacitor Control Circuit Is I decided to use instead. However, if you need to switch out the armor reppers for hull reppers (as I needed to do when I was flying this ship), RRAs become useless, while CCCs remain effective. The Exequror also has enough drone bandwidth to fly five Medium Armor Maintenance Bots. As this is basically a straight T2 fit, I went with the T2 versions, but you can easily downgrade to the T1s if you don’t have the skills.

As I mentioned before, when I was using the Exequror, I needed to refit it for hull repping as well. I’m not sure if this is the most efficient choice for a hull repper, but if you’ve already got it prepped for armor repping, makes sense to have a backup fit for hull repping as well.

So, this next fit is interesting. If you weren’t aware, remote hull repairers are cap hogs. This required dropping the AB for an additional Cap Recharger II, and freeing up a low slot to fit a Capacitor Flux Coil II to get it cap stable. This required me to rethink how it was tanked. The co-processor in the lows is mainly due to the fact that remote hull repairers are also CPU hogs (each remote hull repairer requires more CPU than all three remote armor repairers together). I found I could get better ehp if I went with a meta 1600mm plate and the low-req Adaptive Nano Plating II, though this also required fitting a Reactor Control II to manage the PG demands of the 1600mm plate. Kept the T2 DCU.

If you purpose-built this as a hull repper you could probably come up with a more efficient fit using different rigs, but the triple Capacitor Control Circuits are excellent choices for an Exequror that needs to pull double duty as an armor repper and a hull repper. Drones have been switched out to the Hull Maintenance Bot IIs. This fit is cap stable and has 22,070 ehp at all Vs.

The remote Armor rigs might be a better choice. Hug the pos shield and retreat to safety when danger threatens – reducing the need for the AB. You do not mention any use of Armor ganglinks which will reduce the cycle, cap cost and give more passive resist. (Which be a neutral party).

And expressing the wish that there were logi with bonuses for hull remote rep. With the release of the hull increase rig, hull tanking is now a thing.
